For Schools

About us

In 2017 we started up with one goal: To level the playing field for disadvantaged students. We thought it was deeply unfair that not everyone can access high-quality, individualised academic support. So we decided to do something about it.

Since then we've created a registered charity that has provided over 800 hours of completely free tuition and supported over 200 students. We've partnered with local businesses to help students get work experience and paid internships, and created jobs and volunteering opportunities of our own exclusively for young people. And now we want to do even more.

What do we offer?

We're looking to partner with local schools and provide up to 3-hours per week of free after school tuition for disadvantaged students. Through this students will get access to:

  • High quality tutoring in groups of no more than 5 students.

  • Access to our network of local business.

  • Opportunities for work experience, jobs, and paid internships.

  • Help with looking at next steps post-16 or after sixth form.

  • Help with applying to jobs or university (including application and interview help).

  • Access to our fortnightly open-access clinics where any secondary school student is welcome.

How does it work?

Our initial model involved us working with individual students or trying to set up our own group classes. But what we found was that we weren’t able to support the pupils we really wanted to work with, that’s where you come in. By partnering with schools we’re able to exclusively support the students who need it the most.

We offer in-person tuition by expert tutors who’ve undergone rigorous training in teaching and learning and get continued support to develop their practice. Schools are able to use their Pupil Premium and other ring-fenced sources of funding to secure places with us exclusively for pupils who are eligible for that funding. We subsidise this cost as much as we can by also working with funders, and 100% of our profits are put back into the community to fund the activities listed above. The cost for schools is £75 per hour for a group of 5 students, for up to 3 hours per week (working out at £15 per student, per week). All of our tutors undergo an enhanced DBS check.
